Computers

University-owned

University-owned computers are those purchased by the university for academic and administrative use. These computers are eligible to have the standard faculty/staff build that allows access to restricted App State software and systems.

If you need assistance with university-owned technology, please contact support.

IT Support

There are many IT Consultants at App State that can assist Faculty and Staff with their office computer equipment. Support requests entered by contacting ITS are routed to the appropriate IT Consultant.

PC and Mac Consulting

Our IT Consultants also set up new computers with our standard faculty/staff software build by imaging your machine and can assist with data migration.

Academic Affairs Computer Refresh

This program is managed by IT Support Services and covers all tenure-track faculty and full-time faculty on multi-year contracts, as well as full-time staff in Academic Affairs. Lecturers on one-year contracts and part-time adjunct faculty and other part-time employees will be provided with the best available computer.

All other areas on campus

After purchasing a new university computer, please contact support to arrange for a consultant to install a faculty/staff build.

IT Consultants may also assist with any additional software needs specific to departments or other areas, including purchasing recommendations for new software.

Migrating data from an older computer to newer computers, as well as setting up office printers, can all be performed by the consultant.

Personal Computers

Computers purchased by Faculty and Staff directly (not with university funds) may also be serviced by our Technology Support Center.

Staff at The Technology Support Center are available to assist with a variety of needs, including general troubleshooting and virus/spyware removal.
