TSS announces new support website
The new support website, created by the Technology Support Services department at Appalachian, was opened to the public today.
Webserver upgrades
Appalachian State is currently in the process of significantly upgrading the servers that host the personal pages of faculty, staff and students on campus.
Enterprise Systems Maintenance Window
Widely used enterprise systems on campus will be unavailable during maintenance on Thursday, 2/28/2008 from 5:00am to 8:00am.

AppalNet has been experiencing a caching problem with email. Most users report an error message that displays in place of the text of the email. This problem is easily corrected by deleting cache and cookie files from your internet browser.

An outage occurred earlier today which made email inaccessible. The email service has been restored and is accessible.
Bogus Email
The email asking users to verify their email account was not sent by Tech Support and should be deleted.

Scheduled Maintenance 3/28/2008
Scheduled maintenance will occur Friday, March 28th from 5AM to 7:30AM. Upgrades will be performed on the Luminus portal, and it is expected that some systems will be unavailable.

The Systems will perform work on the Novell cluster between 5:30 and 6:00 pm tonight, 5/20/2008. Novell shares and printing services may be disrupted for 30 to 60 minutes.

Visitor Wireless Network Servicing
Appalachian's wireless infrastructure has undergone upgrades to improve the operation of this network. The 'asu-visitor' network is continuing to undergo service and will be unavailable until service is complete. Access is available for Appalachian students, faculty, and staff is available through the 'asu' network.

Halo 3 with ROTC
Military Science is hosting a Halo 3 tournament in conjunction with the ASU Gaming Club February 13, 20, and 27 from 1 to 9PM. Funds raised at this event will go to benefit the Appalachian State University Chapter of Perishing Rifles.

Maintenance Saturday, April 18th, 2009
The Systems Group needs to utilize the Saturday, April 18th, 2009 maintenance window to perform several necessary maintenance actions. Maintenance will begin on or shortly after 7AM and the majority of the maintenance should be completed by noon. This maintenance will affect several key systems including Banner, iPrint, iFolder, Personal Web Pages, Streaming Services, and GIS. Email and other services will be briefly interrupted as well. Interruption to these services will generally be less than 15 minutes.
