Information Technology Services has scheduled a maintenance workday on Saturday, August 16, 2008. From 12:00 am until late Saturday, you can expect sporadic disruptions and/or degraded service for the following systems:

Internet Connectivity

Banner Production

Banner Development

Pcard

Most Windows services

Email

Novell

While we don't expect these outages to last for the entire window, it is possible they will be lengthy and occur on multiple occasions throughout the day.  Updates will be available at the ASU support site, located at http://support.appstate.edu.

The 'asu-visitor' wireless network, which was previously undergoing maintenance, is available for use. To make use of this wireless network, connect to 'asu-visitor' when in range of an Appalachian wireless access point, open a web browser, and follow the instructions displayed.

The visitor network provides no secure encryption of information and is designed for those who need temporary access when visiting the campus. Students, faculty, and staff that regularly use laptops and other wireless devices on campus should connect to the 'asu' network, which provides WPA2 Enterprise security.
