Setup Mozilla Thunderbird
Step by step
1. Launch Thunderbird. Locate the Icon on your dock or in the “Applications” folder.

2. Make sure the radio button to “Do Not Import anything” is selected and Click “Continue” to enter in your information

3. Under “New Account Setup”, select “E-Mail Account” and Click “Continue”

4. Complete the Identity Information form: Follow the following steps:
a. Your Name: Your Name
b. Email: Your ASU Email Address (ex: doejd@appstate.edu)
d. Click “Continue”

5. Complete the Server Information form: Follow the following steps:
a. Select “IMAP”
b. Incoming Server: imap.appstate.edu
c. Outgoing Mail Server: mail.appstate.edu
d. Click “Continue”

6. Complete the User Names Information form. Follow the following steps:
a. Incoming User Name: ASU Username (ex: smithss, doejd)
b. Outgoing User Name: ASU Username (ex: smithss, doejd)

7. Name the Email Account. Name this account Appstate, Work, ASU, etc. . . . This Name is just
for reference on your system. You can name it would ever you would like.

8. Verify the Account Settings Information and click “Done”.

9. Enter your ASU Password in the “Password Required” dialog box. Check the check box to
remember your password. This will keep you from having to input your password every-time
the application checks for new mail.

10. Welcome to Thunderbird !
