Setting up Novell iFolder for Mac

This article describes how to set up Novell iFolder storage space on university Macs for faculty and staff.

What is Novell iFolder?

iFolder is a simple and secure storage solution that can increase your productivity by enabling you to back up, access and manage your personal files-from anywhere, at any time. Once you have installed iFolder, you simply save your files locally-as you have always done-and iFolder automatically updates the files on a network server and delivers them to the other machines you use.

After setting up the iFolder client and creating iFolders, files that are placed (saved, copied, etc.) into an iFolder are replicated in their entirety, either to other computers or users, or to the iFolder server.

As you change or edit your files, the iFolder client watches for those changes and then only synchronizes the part that changed, thus reduces the amount of time it takes to replicate a file - making it fast and efficient.
