How to Setup Mac OS X Wireless

Step by step

1.  Turn on the Airport Wireless Card (Airport = Name of the Wireless Card and Connection Ap-

plication)

2.  Click on the "Signal Strength Icon" on the menu bar. Once the drop down list appears, se-

lect "Other" from the list.

3.  In the dialog box titled "Closed Network", complete the text boxes with the following infor-

mation

Setting information:

Network Name:  asu

Wireless Security:  WPA Enterprise

Username:  asu

Password:  asu

802.1x Configuration:  Automatic

Click “Ok”

4.  Certificate Authentication, Follow the Setting

Information to allow the proper certificate to be

authorized on your computer.

Settings Information:

a.  Check the “Always trust these certificates”

check box

b.  Click the arrow for “Trust Settings”

c.  Select “Always Trust” from the drop down list

for “When using this certificate”

d.  Click “Continue”

Note:  Setting step c, will automatically set the

other two options to Always Trust

5.  Congratulations, You have now set up yourwireless connection to Appalachian State Uni-

versity's WPA Wireless System.
